Service Description

TDI Intro to Tech is a three-day course for certified divers ready to build the skills, planning habits, and team procedures used in technical diving. The course begins with a full day of academics, equipment evaluation, gas planning, land drills, and preparation for the open-water dives. You will then complete four training dives over two days, giving you time to practice, receive feedback, make adjustments, and return to the water ready to improve. Training focuses on buoyancy, horizontal trim, efficient propulsion, equipment configuration, gas management, team positioning, communication, and problem-solving while maintaining control underwater. You will practice skills such as gas sharing, regulator and mask drills, surface marker deployment, controlled ascents, and valve procedures when applicable. Intro to Tech remains within recreational depth and no-decompression limits. It does not certify you to conduct decompression dives. Instead, it builds the foundation for future courses such as TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures while also making you a more capable, efficient, and deliberate diver. Course includes: * TDI eLearning and student materials * One full day of academics, equipment preparation, and land drills * Four instructor-led open-water training dives * Detailed post-dive feedback and debriefing * Video review when conditions permit * TDI certification processing Prerequisites: Students must be at least 18 years old, or 15 with written parental consent, hold an Open Water certification or equivalent, and provide proof of at least 25 logged dives. All students must complete the required medical paperwork and use an equipment configuration approved by the instructor. Students are responsible for dive-site admission, breathing gas, appropriate equipment, transportation, and lodging when required. Before confirming your course, we will contact you to discuss your experience, current equipment, training goals, and the configuration you plan to use. Certification is based on successfully meeting the academic and in-water performance requirements and is not guaranteed solely by attendance.

Upcoming Sessions

Cancellation Policy

You may reschedule your training session at no charge with at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled session may receive a refund, less any non-refundable eLearning, certification, or processing fees already issued on your behalf. Cancellations or reschedule requests made within 48 hours of the scheduled session may be subject to a $50 rescheduling fee. No-shows or same-day cancellations forfeit the course payment. We understand that emergencies happen. Contact us as soon as possible, and we will make reasonable efforts to work with you when circumstances are outside your control. Course Materials & eLearning Once SDI eLearning, certification materials, or digital certification processing have been issued, those costs are non-refundable. Students are responsible for completing assigned eLearning before the practical training session. Students who arrive without completing required coursework may need to reschedule and may be subject to the rescheduling policy. Prerequisites & Equipment Students must hold an Open Water Scuba Diver certification or equivalent before certification can be issued. Students should bring a nitrox-capable dive computer if they own one. We will teach you how to verify the gas mix, determine maximum operating depth, and program a nitrox-capable computer correctly. No pool session or open-water dives are required for this specialty. Certification Completion Certification is issued after the student completes all required eLearning, knowledge review, practical gas-analysis requirements, and instructor sign-off. Precision Depth Diving may delay or decline certification if course standards, prerequisites, or required performance objectives have not been met. In those situations, we will explain what remains to be completed and work with the student on a reasonable path forward. Weather and Instructor Changes Because this course does not require open-water diving, weather rarely affects scheduling. However, Precision Depth Diving may reschedule a session because of severe weather, instructor illness, facility issues, or other circumstances that make instruction impractical or unsafe. If Precision Depth Diving must cancel or reschedule, students may choose a new available date or receive a full refund for any unused course portion.
